25 JULY, 1995: Oasis' September tour has sold out in record time and blew up
a telephone exchange in the process. Tickets for the band's tour went on
sale at 9.00 am on Tuesday 25th July. A staggering 35,000 calls were
received in the first five minutes of opening, to a special freephone number
and caused the system to overload. The problem was soon rectified and the
tour still sold out in half and hour. Tickets were also on sale through the
respective box offices at 9.00 am and fans started queuing as early as 3.00
am. The tour kicks off in Blackpool on September 13 and ends in Bournemouth
on September 18. Support on all dates is The Verve.

months and that's all right. A few hare krishnas here and there and I've
done my social bit
